Generator Fumes Kill Mother And Four Children In Bayelsa

Fumes from a generator killed a mother namely Mrs. Chinyere Celestine and her four children in their residence, off Goodnews Street, Azikoro suburbs of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The victims of the fumes were said to have died while they were sleeping on Tuesday night. Meanwhile the generator was working.
When the incident happened, the father of the four children named Celestine was said to be in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Celestine became curious when he was unable to get through his wife on telephone the next morning. This forced him to call one of their neighbors.
The neighbors, after making several attempts to wake the mother and four children, forcefully opened the door and found the dead bodies of the victims.
According to the reports, many residents in the said area were relying heavily on generators after the consistent power failures in the state.
The death of Chinyere and her four children was confirmed by Police Public Relations Officer, Bayelsa Police Command, Alex Akhigbe.
