The two culprits, Simon Yovou, 34, fetish priest and Thomas Dodzie Nodzi, 38, unemployed, both residents of Afienya, were transporting the skull from Agortime Wudome in the Volta Region to Kumasi, when they were detained by the police.

The human part had been sent to the Forensic Laboratory for further confirmation.
Superintendent Kwesi Ofori, Dodowa District Police Commander confirmed the arrest.
Upon reaching a section of the Akosombo-Tema Highway near Afienya, the bus was reportedly stopped by the police, and a snap check conducted on the passengers in the vehicle revealed the skull hidden in Simon’s bag.

The police later got viable information from Simon, which led to the arrest of Thomas.
The police interrogation revealed that the skull was to be delivered to a certain Dzabaku, a fetish priest at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

Superintendent Ofori further added that efforts by the Agortime Police and the Dodowa District Police to locate where the suspects got the skull from proved futile, as they failed to divulge any information to the police.
