Police Arrests Man for Stabbing Wife to Death

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Gbenga Ogunfolabo in Ishara, Remo North Local Government Area of the state for allegedly stabbing his wife, 45-year-old Bosede, to death with a broken bottle.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Tuesday, alleged that the suspect, a 47-year-old farmer stabbed Bosede to death during a fight between the couple on Wednesday last week but the incident was not reported to the police as a result of family pressure. Bose, a mother of eight, who lost two of them due to sickness, was said to have been constantly maltreated and abused by her husband, a peasant farmer. Fortunately, one of her relations (name withheld) decided to report the matter to the police for thorough investigation before the suspected killer husband was arrested.
“The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Ikemefuna Okoye, has directed that the matter be transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation Eleweran, Abeokuta, for discreet investigation. He has advised the general public to always report cases of this nature or any other crimes to the police to have records or statistics of crimes committed in the state and to allow justice to take its course,” the police spokesman said
