Another Reason to be Afraid: Liverpool Researchers Create Contagious Virus that Spreads Through Wi-F

Researchers in Liverpool have created a computer virus that can be spread via Wi-Fi. The researchers liken the spread to a ‘common cold.’

The virus can go easily from network to network in densely populated areas, attacking their weak points. Once it has infiltrated into the Wi-Fi access point, the computers connected are extremely vulnerable to the virus’ attacks.

The creators of the virus told BBC news that they are now working on controlling the virus as well.

Once the virus, nicknamed Chameleon, has gained access into your computer, it begins to work without human control to seek out more vulnerable points on your computer and other computers, stealing everything from your passwords to your most precious data.
