The All Progressives Congress members in the House of Representatives have warned they might orchestrate the Government shutdown if the Federal Government doesn't call the police force to order and halt the impunity in Rivers State and across Nigeria.

Minority Leader, House of Representatives, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila said members of the All Progressives Congress in the lower legislative chamber would work to ensure proper governance in Nigeria.
Mr. Gbajabiamila (APC-Lagos), speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), maintained that Government shutdown was not new in politics all over the world.

He spoke in the wake of the APC 8th National Executive Council (NEC) meeting. It has been agreed that unless the FG addresses crisis and restores the "rule of law" in Rivers State, the APC would instruct its members in the National Assembly to block all executive bills, including the 2014 Appropriation Bill, approval of the appointment of service chiefs and other matters brought before it for consideration.
The legislator said that the common man had not benefitted adequately from previous budgets in the country.
"Of what benefits has the passage of budgets been to the common man?" he asked.

The APC also threatened to direct its members nationwide, especially in Rivers State, to resort to 'self-help' as a protective measure if the situation was not controlled.

The Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi fell out with President Goodluck Jonathan last year and defected to the APC.
