Central African Republic's Parliament Begins Elections Of Interim President



The election of a new transition president for 
Central African Republic among the eight candidates began on Monday morning in Bangui through a secret ballot by members of National Transition Council.

Xinhua 
reports that out of the eight candidates contesting for the interim presidency are two women, Catherine Samba-Panza and Regina Konzy- Mongot, two sons of former presidents, Bilal  Nzanga- Kolingba and Sylvain  Ngakoutou and Jean  Kette, Maxime  Takama,  Gros Nakombo and Nestor  Nali.

It said that the election of a transition president followed the 
resignation of ex-transition president Michel Djotodia on January during an extraordinary summit of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) in Chad.
