UPDATE On LASU Protest: University Shut Down Indefinitely -

Following violent protests by students of Lagos State University (LASU), the institution's management has with immediate effect shut down the widely-respected state-owned university indefinitely.
"In the wake of the violent protest by some affected students of Lagos State University (LASU) over the closure of the university portal for registration of courses for rain semester 2012/2013 examination, the university management has decided to shut down the university indefinitely
"Also, examinations have been put off till further notice. With this decision, students are expected to vacate the university premises until further notice."
This decision was contained in a bulletin, dated 23rd January, 2013.

Students of the institution had staged a protest on Wednesday, 22nd, January over the closure of the portal but the protest became violent on Thursday. Sources told
Nigeriaonpoint.Com that some of the students went as far as physically attacking the Vice Chancellor and even damage his vehicle.
Violence doesn't resolve anything. I thought students should know this and learn to dialogue at all times.
